Our consulting team conducted an analysis and built a business case for a 2-site 800-bed university hospital interested in implementing a supply chain automation solution to optimize central distribution and inpatient unit point of use locations. The estimated annual cost of the supply chain processes for inpatient units, including distribution activities, totaled $5.7M.

The analysis found that once implemented, the 2BIN-iD solution, supported by the SOLID-iD distribution automation solution, would optimize the replenishment process from the receiving dock to the point of use, while staff involvement would be minimized.

By applying all productivity gains from non-clinical personnel, 100% of the gains from the reduction in the shrinkage factor, and just 10% of nursing productivity gains, the payback period was established at less than 3 years.
