The Logi-D consulting team conducted an analysis of operating room points of use in a major 3-site university hospital with more than 1200 beds. Every year, the hospital performs more than 34,000 surgeries and consumes medical supplies worth over $22.5M.

The objective was to evaluate the gains that could be generated using Logi-D’s suite of specialty area solutions,* including CIRCUIT‑iD, our supply chain automation solution that integrates all of our applications and automates charge capture and replenishment processes for clinical specialty areas.

The analysis of the data gathered, combined with on-site observations and interviews, enabled us to determine that at the time of the study, logistics costs in the institution’s ORs totaled almost $1.58M annually.

It also demonstrated a payback of 1.4 years if all of the gains were captured or 3 years if only 58% were considered.
