Cost capture ideas
Our OR CIRCUIT-iD solution has been developed to fully integrate and automate all OR material management processes, including charge capture. Our cost capture model uses information from preference cards linked to patient treatments and procedures. Predictable items are recorded in the case cost as soon as a picklist for the case is generated, thus requiring no additional human intervention. Data on unpredictable items is added right before or during procedures using RFID-enabled technology to minimize user involvement, and returns of unused supplies are recorded at the end of the case using our PB-iD voice-activated application or a touchscreen, which once again keeps user involvement to a minimum. Combining information on picked and returned items results in an industry-leading case costing model.
Resourceful preference cards
Computerized and updated preference cards provide the basis for efficient material management and supply cost capture in clinical specialty areas. Cards may often be incomplete and out of date, and updating can take several months or even years, frequently with disappointing results. Logi-D can provide automated data collection services for the computerization of preference cards, which results in a substantial reduction in staff involvement and project duration and helps achieve the targeted objectives.

Our CL CIRCUIT-iD solution links together all cath lab material management processes and delivers the most precise procedure cost capture as it automatically associates patients with supplies. Standard or predictable items that need to be picked before the procedure, their quantities and their respective storage locations are initially displayed on an easy-to-use touchscreen. As they are selected, they are automatically added to the procedure cost record, which will also be updated as case-specific supplies are picked during the procedure. Consumption of high-value items or items requiring item-level traceability is automatically recorded when the items’ packaging are disposed of in the CC-iD intelligent receptacle. Logi-D offers invaluable support in cleansing the procedure item list, categorizing items (predictable vs. case-specific) and collecting data through RFID technology.
