Logi-D, a leading healthcare supply chain automation provider, announced today that it will exhibit its perioperative point-of-use solutions platform at the 2013 International Alliance for Perioperative Best Practices, jointly hosted by the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) and the International Federation of Perioperative Nurses (IFPN). The conference takes place April 21-25, 2013 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at The Ottawa Convention Center; Logi-D will showcase its solutions platform at booth #126.

As a participant in the conference’s state-of-the-art exhibit floor “showcasing cutting-edge perioperative technologies, products and services”, Logi-D will display several modules from its iD-SUITE, an integrated point-of-use platform representing the latest in supply chain innovation and technology for the perioperative department.

The Logi-D perioperative solutions platform is designed to release clinicians from non-value added tasks by automating transcription, documentation and replenishment activities, while ensuring supply availability and consistency. “These are tasks that represent an alarming amount of time in a nurse’s day-to-day responsibilities,” explains Richard Martin, Director of Solutions at Logi-D, “tasks that add up to the equivalent of three or four clinical FTEs; time spent searching for supplies, picking supplies for surgeries, manually transcribing data, responding to replenishment-related issues, and so much more.”

The biennial conference brings together perioperative nurses and related stakeholders to meet, share experiences, and learn together in order to improve perioperative practices. “To participate in a dialog about perioperative best practices, and to share the industry research we have conducted towards supply chain excellence,  is a unique opportunity to which we are very much looking forward,” expressed Martin.

Logi-D is gaining impressive traction in demonstrating the significant gains that result from helping hospitals adopt concepts borrowed from the industrial sector adapted to the healthcare environment. Converging proven technologies with well-established logistics methodologies, Logi-D continues to innovate to address challenges that are quickly becoming untenable.
